AFC West 2015 Predictions

San Diego Chargers
September 3, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers running back Donald Brown (34) runs against San Francisco 49ers cornerback Kenneth Acker (20) during the first quarter in a preseason game at Levi
2015 Record: 8-8 (3-3 in division)
The Chargers are showing they are not quite ready to start rebuilding with re-signing Philip Rivers.
It seems that they like what they have going on with the team.
The Chargers have proven to be a team that won’t give up easily on a game.
They defeated the then-defending Super Bowl Champions the Seattle Seahawks last season.
But I think the Chargers will struggle this season with losing some offensive weapons.
First, they got rid of their WR Eddie Royal and Antonio Gates is on a four-game suspension for PED use.
That should raise some concern as a team after you sign your starting quarterback to a longer term.
Rivers is slightly out of options as far as receiving talent.
Although, i think that will add struggles i also understand that Rivers is an elite quarterback who in my opinion can make a receiver look good.
The Chargers can also turn to their newest addition Melvin Gordon to try and take some pressure off of the receiving end.
Gordon is going to have a lot of pressure to succeed. Its not very common for a team to draft a running back that high.
Rivers said,“The expectations are going to be high any time you draft a back that high.”
“I would advise the fans not to base the expectations on carries and yards. Don’t say, ‘Oh man, if he doesn’t have 22 for 120 then are we getting what we need from him?’ ”
Rivers is right.
The Chargers are going to need to wait for Gordon to break out and prove his worth. Gordon is young and new to the league so fans will need to be patient.
I think the Chargers will struggle and miss out on the playoffs this season.
