2015 Record: 7-9 (2-4 in division)

If you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

That would seem to be a pretty fitting way to look at how the San Diego Chargers play in the NFL.

Throughout Philip Rivers’ decade and then some on the team, the Chargers have only had a playoff spark for a short while.

For the foreseeable future, the Chargers won’t be in the playoff conversation but they’ll have plenty of room to play spoiler.

If they can win when it counts, that is.

Without anything to really play for if this year goes up in smoke, Rivers has to understand that it’s his team and therefore his responsibility.

Taking control wasn’t much of an issue early on in Philip Rivers’ career, but you can’t help but say — even if you love the guy — that the end of the season results haven’t reflected the work ethic and ability.

Let alone the potential.
