Sunday was a sad day for Lakers Nation as Kobe’s announcement certainly put things in perspective.

20 years ago, a 17 year-old kid donned the purple and gold for the first time in his career.

Everybody knew who he was from his days at Lower Merion High but he was an unproven kid, the first guard straight out of high school.

20 years later, that kid is a man that made the right decision to skip college and bring his talent to the NBA.

And oh boy, what we all witnessed over the last 20 years will forever be in our hearts.
