A good night for Kobe is different now than it was a few years ago. But, on this night the Black Mamba found a bit of his old magic to get the Lakers their third victory of the season.
Bryant delivered 31 points, including two go-ahead jumpers in the fourth quarter to help lift the purple and gold past Washington.
While not a statistically brilliant game for the Mamba, the result did not matter as his play electrified the crowd in the nations capital. The Wizards also played a video tribute to Bryant prior to the game.
Wizards guardGarrett Templesaid “Basically, the whole damn crowd was behind him.”
John Wallwas complimentary of Bryant’s play, stating “To me, I think he can play five more years.”
