We may never see the kind of bad blood we saw exchanged early on, even in the 2000’s, between the two clubs.
Allen Iverson led the charge for Philadelphia in 2001, as the combination of Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant was starting to be the best it ever was.
The 2001 NBA Finals showcased the villain versus superhero duet that we’ve all wanted to see come to life. Iverson represented the harder side of the game, especially off the court, while Kobe and Shaq brought an electric energy to the game.
Philadelphia was the challenger from the East that the Rockets and others couldn’t be.
Both times currently are trying to rebuild their rosters from the ground up, but the Lakers look to be the better team for the immediate and foreseeable future.
