Detroit’s bad boy swagger played heavily into their emergence into the NBA spotlight, as they helped mark the end of an era for the dominate Lakers of old.
The Pistons regained their spark after a gritty performance against Los Angeles in the NBA Finals of 2004.
When the Lakers and Pistons clashed in 1989, Detroit was so good that it swept the Lakers out of the picture — literally.
At the time when they met again with it all on the line, the Lakers failed to come through despite being the heavy favorites in that match up.
