An overtime win against the team that’s run the floor in the AFC — and all of the NFL for that matter — gives the Jets an unprecedented confidence boost.
If they don’t make the playoffs, things will be pretty somber in New York. It’ll be hard to have to say good bye to either the Jets or the Steelers, but that’s life sometimes and it’ll be left out on the field one way or another.
They are definitely doing their part though, especially in the division.
Just two games behind the Patriots with a game to go, the Jets could finish just one game behind in the standings if New England falls in their final outing.
This would be big for Todd Bowles heading into 2016, as he’ll obviously want to know which direction the rest of the team is heading.
Who would’ve thought that a Geno Smith injury in the weirdest of ways would end up benefiting the Jets this much though, seriously?
