The thing that is going to draw so many people to this game is the fact that the Packers have to go on the road in the first weekend of football and wouldn’t get to play at home unless the Seahawks somehow manage to make it past everyone else into the third round, too.

Assumptions behind, the Redskins are the dark horse in the NFC, and for good reason.

Looking beyond RG III has only benefitted the team, as Kirk Cousins continues to impress each week and show us he can get the job done.

DeSean Jackson has been a valuable target for the Redskins all year, and going up against a Packers defense that we’ll be seeing a lot of — and with their current offensive issues, probably too much, Washington is going to have a field day.

But not early on.

I expect the Packers to come out slinging, with the chance of us seeing some very deep passing attempts from Aaron Rodgers to try and scare the Redskins secondary.

Then comes the second half.

Cousins isn’t about to let his career season go up in flames, especially at home.

If he’s able to get the job done against the Packers, the Redskins will know for sure that they’ve found their man.

And they’ll be a tough bet on the road against whoever they’re up against in the divisional round.
