Lakers star Lou Williams’ career night against OKC came in epic fashion via 44 points.

The last two times these teams met the Thunder blew the Lakers out of the water.

In this game the Lakers were in the game all four quarters and to the end of the game. And even though they lost, they gave a valiant effort.

They should have won this game, though.

Kobe Bryant had some shots he took where there should have been fouls called yet the referees did not call them.

I know I was not the only one who clearly saw contact by the opponents on Kobe and none were called.

With that being said, the Lakers and a chance to tie the game or even win the game but could not capitalize.

The problem I saw is Kobe wanted to tie the game or win the game on his shoulders.

What he should have done is pass it to Jordan Clarkson on the corner for the game winning three.

Kobe was in the heat of the moment and that is why he shot the attempted game-winning shot.

In hindsight I am sure he thinks he should have passed the ball to Clarkson on the corner.

All because the referees weren’t calling fouls for Kobe to attempt free throws when he got fouled and took shots.

Even in a loss, Lou Willaims was the MVP who led the Lakers in points scored.

He had a chance second to last series to make a three and came up short.

Then Kobe was hoping to relive his younger years to get the shot off and get fouled which didn’t happen.

He has passed a lot more this year than any other time in his career and it is noticeable.

  • He just thought he could win and wanted to give the fans and the team the best chance to win, yet he should have seen Clarkson int he corner for the game-winner.

Looking ahead, he probably wishes he would have dent hat to win the game now.

After the Lakers three-game winning streak, they have now lost three straight, going back to square one.

In the last two games they played tremendously an with great effort and came up short.

My question is, are the Lakers purposely losing or do they want to win?

Common sense says they want win.

Present and future visions say they want to lose.

    Let me explain.

If the Lakers continue to lose they will have a high percentage chance of being earning the top three lottery pick.

If they do not get the top three lottery pick the other worst team in the NBA, the Philadelphia 76ers, will get the lottery pick and the Lakers will lose their first round pick.

A similar situation happened last year and the Lakers were able to earn a top five first round pick by the skin of their teeth.

Also, do not get me wrong, the Lakers want to win because they want to send Kobe out the proper way.

Yet the the organization is also building an preparing of the future at the same time Kobe is in his last year.

My last thoughts are I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to come out of retirement and play for the Lakers one last time or even come back and coach the Lakers next year because of the chemistry they built this year.

But either way, it’s time to give Lou Williams the credit he rightfully deserves.
