To get the most obvious choice out of the way, Kobe Bryant is LA’s first choice to participate in the All Star game.

Now, that’s not to say his play this season has earned him a role on the roster.  But, like Michael Jordan and other greats before him, the Black Mamba deserves one final night to play among the leagues biggest stars.

His credentials are worth a look —  five-time NBA Champion, 2008 MVP, four-time All Star Game MVP, 1997 Dunk Contest Champion, two-time Finals MVP, and the third-leading scorer in NBA history.

Bryant is leading polls for the All-Star game and fans across the NBA have shown that they want to give him the send-off he deserves.  Every arena that he has visited for the final time has met him with a standing ovation and video tributes to celebrate his career.

While the Mamba is far the prime of his career, fans are still clamoring to see him compete with Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and the rest of the leagues’ best players one final time.
