While other trophies may come with reasonable arguments, the President’s Trophy isn’t one of them.

With 67 points in the standings, the Washington Capitals lead all of the NHL.

While the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks round out the trio of teams that have amassed 60 points or more, it’s the Capitals that are the front runner to bring this trophy home to D.C.

While you could say that it’s only January and a lot can happen between now and April, this version of the Washington Capitals has the look and feel of the leagues best team.

Being a top regular season team is nothing out of the ordinary for Capitals fans, and most will tell that the team’s success is measured by what they do in the postseason, it’s still an honor to take home the President’s Trophy.
