Brent Burns – San Jose Sharks

The only stigma about this defense-man turned forward turned defense-man is his (-9) rating.

Aside from that, Brent Burns has been the second most offensively productive defense-man in the entire league. With 18 goals and 25 assists, Burns’ stat line reads more like a forwards than it does a blue-liner.

Burns has tallied 3 GWG, posted close to 40% of his points on the PP, and also has 2 short-handed points on the season. Drew Doughty’s advanced stats may award him with the Norris finalist nomination over Burns but this is all irrelevant because the leagues top defense-man resides in Ottawa.
