Los Angeles Rams Confronted With More Tough Free Agency Decisions
By Dylan Thomas
The Los Angeles Rams receiving core needs a drastic makeover if they want to complete in 2016.
There will be multiple free agents the Rams can target, but should Roddy White be one of them.
The Los Angeles Rams must add multiple receivers this off-season, and recently released Roddy White may fit their needs even after coming off a season where he posted career low numbers since his rookie year in 2005.
Roddy White has had a productive career for the Atlanta Falcons; the 11 year veteran is the franchise all-time leader in catches (808) yards (10,863) and touchdowns (63).
Obviously his best days are behind him, but does that mean he can’t contribute for the Rams in 2016?
No, it doesn’t.
There aren’t many options in free agency this year in terms of receivers on the market and the Rams must at least sign one receiver in free agency — but what makes Roddy White makes the veteran the Rams should sign?
He is a proven vet who may be on the decline but will still improve the Rams this receiving core, even on personal decline.
Roddy White won’t solve all the Rams issues at receiver but at least he will help it.

They will still have to address this area of need in the draft, but having a rookie learning under White wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
White himself doesn’t believe he’s on the decline, as White’s agent stated he believes White was cut because Kyle Shanahan made them choose either himself or White, and in the end they chose Shanahan.
There’s always a possibility that under Shanahan’s offense who was in his first season as the Falcons offensive coordinator didn’t focus on White as much like the past coordinators have.
This is one side to look at, but there’s always two sides to the story.
Maybe a 34-year old is on decline and has nothing in the left in the tank.
Maybe an older veteran like White wants to play for a contender and does not see that with the Rams.
Maybe White wasn’t used correctly under Shanahan offense — but the Rams could find the silver lining.
But in the end result, I actually don’t believe the Rams should target Roddy White.
A receiver coming off his worst season in a decade does not make sense for either sides. For the Rams, they would get a vet receiver who is in the finale final stages of his career.
The Rams must grab a receiver who can contribute longer than 2016, and I don’t see Roddy White contributing to make the Rams instant contenders.
For White he comes to a team that how’s many holes and may not be contenders this season.
White might want to play his final years for a team that can contend for a Super Bowl.

The Rams must add receivers this off-season, but White shouldn’t be one of them.
