Rivas: Northern Iowa is the Cinderella pick that I have going to the Sweet 16. With a strong start to this season, and inconsistency being the message throughout the year from them and other teams, now is the perfect time for the Panthers to pounce. In order to get any further than that, though, I have them going up against a big test in Oklahoma. The Sooners don’t mess around, but count on Northern Iowa to make some serious noise.

Taylor: Green Bay is my Cinderella team going into the NCAA tournament. They’re under the radar and what do they have to lose? Ultimately, they have zero to lose and everything to gain in this tournament. I see them upsetting a few teams on their way to the Sweet 16. Led by senior guard Carrington Love, who averages a team high 17.3 points per game and his junior back court mate Charles Cooper averages 13 PPG. Both players will give this team opportunities to upset teams like Texas A&M and once again they will be playing with nothing to lose. Therefore, I expect Green Bay to go out there, play loose and shock the world.

Warnock: Gonzaga is my surprise pick to make it to the Sweet 16 this season, and for good reason. I think that they were seeded lower in the tournament than they should have been — but it’s not the first time they haven’t gotten due recognition. The Bulldogs are known for their defense, and they show it by holding their opponents to an average of 66 points per game. They likely won’t beat Michigan State, but will have a chance if their offense can click and make more shots down the stretch.
