2016 NBA Draft: Lakers Predictions
With the 2016 NBA Draft in sight, there’s plenty for the Lakers to keep in mind.
The Los Angeles Lakers are heading in the right direction to keep their protected 1st round lottery pick.
A player they should keep their eye on this year and in the draft is guard Daniel Hamilton from the University of Connecticut.
He is only a sophomore and most likely will stay for the next two years.
If he decided to leave UConn early for the NBA, this is the guy the Lakers should look at for their second pick overall along with their first round pick.
He is an all-around player, he can take defenders off the dribble and is a decent shooter — and over the next few years, his shooting will improve.
His defense is good and will only improve under head coach Kevin Ollie.
Lets not forget all the past players from UConn who were guards that played there and went on to the NBA to do great things — Kemba Walker, Shabazz Napier, Ryan Boatright — and Daniel Hamilton could be next and what the Lakers need.
There is all this talk about Ben Simmons from LSU and Brandon Ingram from Duke, but not about Daniel Hamilton who plays the position they need the most a guard since Kobe Bryant is leaving.
Buddy Hield is even a possibility, especially after talking to Kobe Bryant before and after Oklahoma’s Elite Eight game — and with the performances he has showed in the NCAA Tournament.
All four players are skillful and talented.
The Lakers could use all four players on the team then they would have a complete five starters and bench.

Then all they would need is a superstar to want to come join their team, such as Kevin Durant or Zach Randolph.
This year in 2016 the Lakers need to draft Brandon Ingram and Buddy Hield.
I say draft these two players and not Simmons is because unlike Simmons, these two have been on the big stage with bright lights and shined.
Yes, Los Angeles needs a center, but as of right now they have Roy Hibbert, and Julius Randle can even play the 5 position if need be.
They need players at the 3 and 4 position who can play defense and shoot the ball very well.
Just like the 2015 draft where they drafted three people, they can do the same this year in 2016 draft two people — one in each round or 2 in the first round and one the next year in 2017.
With these players, A-list players will want to come to LA to play with the team and the talent the Lakers have now and then — they will be a good team not to be messed with.
Their starting five could be in order from point guard to center PG DeAngelo Russell, SG Jordan Clarkson, SF Daniel Hamilton, PF Brandon Ingram, and C Julius Randle.
Hield would be on the bench with Marcelo Huertas, Louis Williams, Ryan Kelly, and Roy Hibbert.
With this roster the Lakers would attract someone in free agency in the offseason who wants to play with them and help bring championships back to LA.
