Jared Goff, the California native who played his college football for the California Bears, if selected by the Rams, will get to continue to play football in his home state. Goff has all the skill set you look for in a franchise quarterback; he’s a leader, strong-arm, and pocket mobility are some of Goff’s positives.

He also set a PAC-12 conference records this year with 4,719 yards and 43 touchdowns.

Goff also directed the Bears to their first bowl win since 2008 in the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl against Air Force.

Being a starter since his freshman year, Goff posted some amazing stats in his college career setting records for the California Bears such as most passing yards (12,220), touchdown passes (96), completions (977), and total offense (12,086).

Goff also became the first Bears quarterback since Aaron Rodgers to earn first-team All-PAC-12 honors.

On the offense, the two-time team captain Goff ran the Bear Raid  — an offense the Bears’ amplified version of the no-huddle offense — in that, Goff was asked to read the defense on every single play.

That’s impressive for such a young quarterback and a reason he can become a franchise quarterback.

Jared Goff isn’t the perfect prospect though, as he has some areas for concern and improvement.

One concern is the offense he played in. He was in shotgun or pistol for most of the season, so he has to adjust to playing under center. Whether we agree or disagree, team records are a quarterback stat and posting a 14-23 record as a 3 year starter might not suit well with others.

Also he needs to bulk up a bit more.

He has the height at 6’4”, but at 205 pounds and having monstrous 300 pound players line up across from him , one may wonder how much he can take with his slim build.

Also, he has small hands compared to other NFL quarterbacks, measuring at 9 inches.

Overall, Goff needs development but he’s athletic enough, not the strongest arm, but still has an arm capable of playing in the NFL, good pocket presence, excels throwing touch passes.

Goff has things to love and that’s why he’s in consideration for the number 1 pick.
