Anaheim Ducks are back on track following Tuesday night’s shutout in Nashville.

Head coach of the Anaheim Ducks Bruce Boudreau led them to another great season making the playoffs this year and winning their division.

The LA Kings had the division locked until in the last stretch of the regular season where they blew a three point lead to end up losing in a shootout to the Winnipeg Jets.

While winning the division is a great accomplishment in any sport, it may have come back to burn the Ducks in the postseason.

If the they did not win the division they would be playing the San Jose Sharks in the playoffs and the Los Angeles Kings would be playing the Nashville Predators.

Both the Kings and Ducks won the series against those respective opponents.

The only benefit I saw coming out of them wining the division is if they they have home ice until they get to the Western Conference Finals.

Then they joined the Kings in an 0-2 series hole.

Both the Ducks and Kings are the higher seed and are losing their series despite being favorites to make the Stanley Cup Final.

The Kings won in San Jose Monday to only be down 2-1 and tonight the Ducks are looking to do the same in Nashville while Los Angeles enters Game 4 versus the Sharks.

If they lose tonight to go down 0-3, they will need a mighty miracle.

Goalie Frederik Andersen had himself a game last night, saving 27 shots on goal by the Sharks and blanking them.

He started in Game 3 of the series in place of teammate John Gibson.

Coach Boudreau did not switch goalies because Gibson was doing bad, but rather he switched goalies because that is what he did in the regular season and wants to stick with his plan he has of using both goalies in the playoffs.

After all, great coaches do know whats best for the team.

The Ducks only had 21 shots on goal but managed to take more high percentage shots because they scored three times on less shots on goal.

Last night the Ducks scored the most goals they have this series in three to get their first victory.

They scored once in the first period by Jamie McGinn and twice in the second period by Rickard Rakell and Chris Stewart.

One would think that this game was all about offense because they scored three goals yet it was all because of the teams focus on defense on why they won this game.

They were more focused on defense which lead to them blanking the the Predators which lead them to score three goals on offense.

This is the Ducks’ first road playoff shutout since 2014 when they played the LA Kings in the second round.

Neither team scored any goals in the third period.
