Lakers head coaching search isn’t short of candidates

The Case For Derek Fisher
Trying to make the case for Derek Fisher to be hired as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers is an interesting challenge to take up.
Fisher tried his luck as head coach of the New York Knicks, but as recent memory would dictate, his tenure in the Big Apple was far from a honeymoon.
He went a woeful 40-94 in just under two years with the Knicks, with plenty of fireworks in-between.
Picking Derek Fisher to fill their head coaching void wouldn’t be in the best interest of the Lakers, especially when you consider how fragile the young talent still is as they work on their development.
To throw Fisher in the fire would be a disaster because he has had a very hard time separating his roles as a player and his duties as a coach.
With New York, there was too much irresponsibility for the Lakers to call hiring him a good decision.
Realistically, this would just be a publicity stunt to try and get better sales next season, as Fisher has a playoff history with Kobe Bryant few Lakers fans can really forget.
It’d be a dumpster fire waiting to happen, and that’s not at all what Los Angeles needs or should want at this point.
