2016 NFL Draft: Grading the selections of Los Angeles
By Dylan Thomas
Josh Forrest
For the first time in the draft the Rams finally went defensive. With their second 6th round pick they went with linebacker Josh Forrest.
The 6’3 athletic linebacker was used all over the field in Kentucky but probably is best suited as linebacker.
He only started two seasons so he still is a project but he showed he can blitz from the linebacker position posting 4.5 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss in his two years starting.
Forrest did had a rough showing at the combine, running a 4.9 and bench pressing 225 just 11 times.
He does need to add more strength so he won’t be a liability against the run. He can also improve his tackling as he missed 22 tackles in the last two years.
He should be able to contribute on special teams his rookie year while improving his strength.
