Above all else, Paul George is frustrated with the Indiana Pacers.

In recent memory, the team has had a handful of chances to do well in the playoffs and make a postseason run, but a run-in with LeBron James or a collapse with the series on the line has haunted them in those endeavors.

Landing someone like Paul George would be a tall task for Los Angeles, but this time around they are prepared for anything, as the perfect storm of available trade options is at their disposal — including a top three pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Paul won’t be a free agent until 2019-20, so if the Lakers are going to make a run for him right now it would have to be via trade.

In addition to throwing an attractive draft pick on the table for George, Bill Simmons suggests that point guard D’Angelo Russell could be on the move as well if a deal was nearing fruition.

One of the reasons that George might not come to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers would be to keep a sense of normalcy, as he did just fine in his first year completely back and healthy after a scary leg injury not too long ago.

George would be a great fit for the Lakers, which is why Los Angeles is trying so hard to get him, but if the team isn’t careful they could strike out on putting him in purple and gold.
