LA Angels rally late in loss to Cardinals
LA Angels lose sixth straight game and fall eight games behind .500.
The Los Angeles Angels missed the 2015 MLB playoff by the hair of their chin and the beginning of this year isn’t looking any better for the franchise and the players.
At the start of the 2016 regular season with just 34 games in they are 8 games under .500 with only 13 wins and 20 losses.
The franchise has not been in the bottom of the league and their division for awhile.
Yes the MLB season is 162 games long therefore the Angels do have time to mover over .500.
They can get their because they have quality all-stars and role players who can hit the ball when needed and great defense as well.
Their bullpen is okay and they need acquire one more pitcher as well, other than just Jhoulys Chacin to accommodate Jered Weaver and Matt Shoemaker with he rest of the others in the bullpen.
The concern is you don’t want to consistently play unproductive games and continue to lose.
Yes they lost their sixth straight game but it is time to watch film, practice and move on to the next game an for series.
This game was not a bad game because they gave it their all and were really close to pulling a comeback rallying late just falling short only losing by 2 runs.
The club needs to find their motivation and determination to start playing better ball if they want to make the post-season because they are capable and tonight even though a loss showed glimpses of their determination and motivation to win.
This games offense didn’t start until the third inning.
Surprisingly the LA Angels scored first yet they lost the game in the end.
The Angles had 5 less at-bats than the Cardinals 40 to 45.
The Cardinal had 18 hits to the Angels 15 which is what caused or help the Angels to lose because they had less hits.
They had less strikeouts 7 to 9 along with 4 men walked to the opponents 6 men walked and those extra two men walked could just be the difference in the game.
If they aren’t walked maybe this game goes into extra innings and who knows the LA Angels could have won.
The LA Angels had 9 RBIs to the visitors 12 and multiple players from both teams were left on base, 20 for the visiting team and 17 for the Halos.

The whole ball club did great in a loss and gave a valiant effort.
Just a couple of names to point out is that Albert Pujols with his homer today, becomes just the 9th active player to hit a home run against all 30 teams.
Daniel Nava had himself a game as well with just four at-bats scoring twice, hitting the ball twice, had one rbi, was walked once, and did not strikeout.
