MLS Rivalry Week: LA Galaxy vs San Jose Quakes
The Galaxy will continue their beautiful season during MLS Rivalry week on Sunday May 22.
With a win they will move into 2nd place and oh so close to first because other teams have played more games than them and have earned more points.
This game shall be a wild one as this could possibly be one of the greatest MLS Rivalries and we should see lots of points scored.
Speaking of points in games such as goals this Galaxy team hasn’t had the most goals scored on them but they have scored the most goals this season thus far.
This team is full of homegrown players along with international all-stars.
International stars in the MLS is great for viewership/the audience and the league, it increases ratings and makes the league more competitive which makes the sport of soccer fun to watch.
Having international stars in the MLS comes with its issues though which is they frequently get asked or called up to play for their international club.
When this issue comes around they have to decide if they want to play for the club whether it be a game or a few.
They must decide if they want to play, what is best for them as a player, their family, their MLS club, and international club and if it is worth it.
The Galaxy have continued to find ways to win even when their own international players get asked to come play internationally whether it be for a game or for multiple games.
This squad is able to keep their unity even when players depart then come back because in the latest MLS power rankings they came oh so close to being number one. They were ranked #2 overall in week 11 despite their flourishing finishes.
Fortunately for them it has only been like one player at a time leaving internationally then returning and then when one returns the other gets called up or gets asked to play for they club.
The players do not have to go play for their international club they can say no and some like Giovanni Dos Santos have done that.
Only a few times are multiple international players gone simultaneously.
The Galaxy still are able to find a path to victory no matter the player on the roster, whether they are starters or role players.
It is as if there is no decline in they success this season no matter which lineup head coach Bruce Arena starts.
The players themselves they may actually be working harder when a different lineup starts compared to their regular rotation.
Yet they still seem to look as if it is their regular lineup and they continue to dominate the soccer field no matter who is in the rotation.
This is what I call teamwork.
This weekend they hope to continue this dominance during MLS rivalry week against the San Jose Quakes and simultaneously hosting hometown heroes night in LA.
What a good way to kick off rivalry week!
Chemistry is the magic in and with all sports teams.
Great teams have excellent chemistry throughout their whole team, yet their is something about the chemistry that the starters have between themselves.
It is beautiful and its like your best friend finishing your sentence for you.
Yes the starters do have chemistry with their entire team and it flows down but their is just something about chemistry within the starters.
Great teams have an abundance flowing of chemistry, where the starters and different role players can play with each other and there is no decline in play and the Los Angeles Galaxy have that.
It is been a few years since they won the cup and it was with legend Landon Donoavan who is now retired.
Giovanni Dos Santos and the LA Galaxy are hungry for the MLS Cup.
Their hunger will stay with them and should help them in on Sunday in MLS rivalry week.

When the whole team is together when players are not gone with their international teams the Galaxy are dangerous, because of the mix of international all-stars and homegrown California all-stars.
