Trading The Draft Pick

I said it already and I will say it again – The Los Angeles Lakers should trade their number two pick.

Out of the first 14 teams in the draft, only the Sacramento Kings posses a superstar who has been linked to the Lakers in the last few years. He’s a man with attitude and the best big-man in the NBA, I am talking about DeMarcus Cousins ladies and gentleman.

The Lakers should pull off a trade with the Sacramento Kings where the Kings would ask for the number two pick, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance, Jr. while the Lakers finally get a talented big-man in Cousins.

Sean Cunningham of ABC Sacramento provides us with insight on the matter:

Even if Divac says so, I’m sure he’d at least listen to the offer.

If the trade does fall through, the Lakers will need a point-guard. The solution is simple — sign Rajon Rondo as he can still play ball.

If trading for Cousins does not work out, then take a swing at Paul George.

Sign-and-trade with Durant, perhaps?

Who knows!

All I’m saying is the Lakers would be better off trading the pick instead of having another season filled with inconsistency, immaturity, and mediocrity.
