Lakers NBA Draft News: A look at previous picks

A.C. Green

During the Showtime era the Lakers GM Jerry West was force to pick in the late rounds a lot due to the teams success, with a keen eye for talent West was able to pick up power forward A.C. Green in the late first round of the 1985 NBA Draft with the 23rd pick.

Green brought youth and strength to the Lakers front court offense and defense.  He would lead the team in rebounding six out of eight seasons between 1985-1993 playing in four NBA Finals winning back to back titles in 1987-88.

After leaving in 1993, Green would resurface with the team in 2000  winning a title with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.
