Lakers welcome former Notre Dame forward/center Zach Auguste to their summer league team.

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Zach Auguste to their summer league team.

Before, any rumors go flying, lets remember the Lakers drafted a center with the 32nd pick in the draft on Thursday June 23, 2016.

They drafted center Ivica Zubac who is only 19 years of age and from Croatia.

The Lakers are looking for multiple ways to enhance their roster, whether it is a veteran free agent, or player who was a standout in college and projected to do great in the league.

As is it stands right now Hibbert is on his way out and Zubac will be the starter.

Bass may be leaving as well and Black might be staying, only the front office has all the answers or that is what all the fans think at least.

With that being said Auguste making the summer league team for the Lakers is not only good for him, but the Lakers as well.

Depending on his performance in the summer, Auguste could make the Lakers roster and would most likely be the back up center or forward, as he can play both positions.

He would be a a great contender to battle for the starting center poisiton along side Zubac and Black.

Have the Los Angeles Lakers found their answer to success for the future, mainly through the draft, before pursuing players in free agency?

Currently they have a complete starting roster and bench roster.

Their starters for next season will most likely be at the point guard D’Angelo Russell, shooting guard Jordan Clarkson, small forward Brandon Ingram, power forward Julius Randle, and center Ivica Zubac.

The Lakers bench players would have to be moved around as all moved up one position.

For example the center or the 5 position would be playing the power forward or 4 posistition.

The Bench players would consist of point guard Marcelo Huertas, shooting guard Lou Williams, small forward Ryan Kelly, power forward Zach Auguste, and center Tarik Black.

Auguste is a versatile, quick big man who can play the power froward or center position.

His offense and defense compliment each other very well, yet can still be improved on, but his defense is better than his offense.

Both can be improved through practice and the summer league.

Auguste averaged a double-double at Notre Dame in the 2015/2016 season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Is Zach Auguste the answer for the center vacancy along Zubac?

Auguste could be in the rotation for games pending, how he does in the summer league.

Should the Lakers still go after some players in free agency, because they currently have a good, young, starting roster that should be able to play together for awhile?

The only problem(s) the Lakers have now is they need a great bench, they have a good bench.

This will help them decide who they should pursue in free agency.

Who they end up signing in free agency, if they land anyone can move current starters to bench roles, but they will still be in the rotation, and then the bench will be that much better as well.

The Lakers built their team through the draft so far and is that enough or must they go after at least 1 or 2 players in free agency to help enhance their roster, since they do have money for great productive, possibly All-Star players?
