Jeff Fisher replacement: Who fits the bill?
By Evan Lovett
The writing is not only on the wall, but it’s penned in Sharpie — a Jeff Fisher replacement isn’t an option, it’s necessary.
Only six of his 22 seasons as a head coach have ended with winning records or playoff appearances. He has 31 wins and 44 losses in five seasons with the Rams.
He may or may not be in a rift with his GM, according to a report from the LA Times.
Rams legend Eric Dickerson refuses to attend games as long as Fisher is the Coach. And if the Rams lose two more games, he is officially the NFL’s all-time losing-est coach.
Though it was recently discovered that the Kroenke ownership surreptitiously extended Fisher’s contract, the only assurances come in the form of finance — not job security.
In fact, it is going to be a public relations nightmare for the Los Angeles Rams if they have to justify keeping Fisher.
Assuming that the team wants the “we’re back, L.A.!” goodwill to last at least for two seasons, they are going to make this move.
So who are the top candidates to replace Fisher?
