Jeff Fisher replacement: Who fits the bill?
By Evan Lovett
Pete Carroll
If Bevell is under consideration, why not dream of bringing “Uncle Pete” back to the city where he made his hay.
While the NFL eschewed Los Angeles for a generation, it was Carroll that brought swagger – and fans – out on Saturday nights, as his USC Trojans dominated for nearly a decade. The Seahawks snapped him up, he dominated in Seattle (two Super Bowl appearances, one ring).
Next: What if the Dodgers lose Jansen?
Alas, Carroll is happy in the Emerald City and is under contract through 2019. But come to think of it, 2019 is when the Rams new stadium is slated to open, so…dream on?
Odds: 10,000-1 in 2016; 3-1 in 2019.
