Deandre Jordan had a magical perfomance in Orlando.
Deandre Jordan once again earned himself a double-double, helping the Clippers escape with a win against the Magic.
Also, he had an awesome statistic from the free throw line which helped LA win the game.
Deandre Jordan made 12 free throws out of 18 attempts and was 5-6 from the field. He recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds.
He had 3 blocks on defense as well.
Deandre Jordan making 12 free throws was a career record for him.
Jordan wasn’t the only one with a double-double, though.
Chris Paul earned himself another one by dropping 10 assists and 16 points. Every starter was in double figures for LA.
Only three Magic players hit double figures.
Aaron Gordon one of them had a stellar game himself dropping 33 points. Since Clippers starters all dropped 10 plus points, his performance was out-shined by LA.
Clippers starters dropping points in the double digits can thank Chris Paul, since he assisted them.
Also Los Angeles’ defense came up big holding their opponents players except three under 10 points.
This is excellent news for fans as one of their best defensive players did not play this game.
Luc Mbah A Moute a defensive leader did not play due to an AC Joint Sprain.
The Clippers defense accomplished their job without him, although they allowed the stars to score multiple points.
Los Angeles did just enough on defense to escape with a win. What they lacked thereof on defense they made up for on offense by all starters in double figures.
Allowing three stars from the Magic to have monster games shows how much Mbah A Moute is missed on defense when out.
This shows how much of an impact he has on the team. He is one of the underrated defensive players in the NBA.
Deandre Jordan had a career night going almost perfect from the charity stripe. Making his free throws was the difference in this game that allowed them to win by a few points. Had he missed those 12 free throws they would have lost by seven points or more.
Lob City won the battle at the free throw line and also possibly the game according to the box score. Orlando was 10-20 while Los Angeles was 26 of 37.
Los Angeles made it to the line more times and made more free throws with those opportunities at the line.
Deandre Jordan not making free throws may have opened the door for the Magic to win the game. Then their free throw statistic wouldn’t seem so poorly as it is.
