Closing Thoughts
While there are plenty of things worth acknowledging about the team’s past, refusing to accept that their future is also bright wouldn’t be looking at the bigger picture.
Right now, the Lakers are finally at a place where they can start from scratch without worrying about a veteran’s minutes, appearances, or otherwise.
Their young core of D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, and newest member Brandon Ingram are all talented.
Larry Nance Jr. also brings a great presence to the table.
The pressure doesn’t seem to kick in for the younger players because it’s apparent they don’t compare themselves to the past. They want to create a new brand of Lakers basketball all their own — and they believe their time is now.
