James Worthy was the first overall pick in the 1982 NBA draft and would go on to eventually make a name for himself in Los Angeles.

Over the span of more than decade, Worthy saw the All-Star game seven times and victory in the NBA Finals three times.

His championship resume also includes being named the most valuable player for the 1988 NBA Finals played against the Detroit Pistons.

Worthy had over 1,000 steals in his career. The only two Lakers players to have more than him in that category are Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

He is also the sixth-best scorer in team history, accruing 16,320 points overall.
