Nowadays, former Lakers star Magic Johnson is focusing on the business side of things in Los Angeles sports. However, no Lakers fans will ever forget just how much he meant to the team during his era.

Taken with the top overall pick in the 1979 draft, Johnson’s impact was felt immediately.

He helped the team get to the NBA Finals en route to a championship MVP for himself during his rookie campaign.

Johnson would go on to win two more Finals MVP awards, with three league MVP awards also in his name.

The All-Star game saw him twelve times.

He has the most assists in Lakers history, and it’s not even close. In his career with Los Angeles, Johnson dished out 10,141 dimes.

Second on the assist list is Kobe Bryant, who handed out just over 6,000 for a comparison.

Johnson was put into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
