Clayton Kershaw

Good looking. Intelligent. Fan-friendly. Philanthropic. A competitor. And, oh yeah, the best player in baseball. Not the best pitcher, but player.

With three Cy Young awards in his trophy case and three other top-five finishes, he is already a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame.

And he is only 28 years old.

The Dodgers are a perennial playoff team, and though the one pockmark on his record continues to be his playoff woes against the Cardinals, he is otherwise nearly un-hittable.

The comparisons to Sandy Koufax once seemed gaudy and unattainable. Now, some say he is already the best pitcher in baseball history.

And that is why Clayton Kershaw is the top player in L.A.

Honorable Mentions: Kenley Jansen, Justin Turner (Dodgers); DeAndre Jordan (Clippers); D’Angelo Russell (Lakers); Johnny Hekker (Rams); Corey Perry, Ryan Kesler, Ryan Getzlaf (Ducks); Kole Calhoun (Angels); Jeff Carter (Kings) note:  USC’s Adoree’ Jackson, JuJu Smith-Schuster both may declare for NFL Draft and were not considered for this list.
