Bad for the organization

The fact is that they have divorced themselves from their fan base. Moving to a city that does not want them is not a great way to build brand equity.

Bill Plaschke of the L.A. Times states pretty clearly that the Chargers should not look for a “welcome wagon” in Los Angeles.

This does not bode well for an owner already referred to as greedy, immature and a goof.

While the move northbound on I-5 may appear to be immediately profitable from the perspective of franchise value, there’s more to it.

If they are sharing a stadium and not selling out games, it will not be long before the luster wears off.

It is difficult to envision playing second-fiddle in a city already lukewarm about professional football as being a benefit to the Chargers in the long-run.
