Closing Thoughts

All of these things are going to be told with time. Russell is still just in his second year, but that shouldn’t excuse him from these kind of conversations.

Although it is early, the Lakers have to realize what’s at stake here. If Russell pans out to not be the kind of player that they think is best for the team long term, the good news is that they can move forward.

The problem lies in whether the team will be able to make that decision.

Trusting too long for players to change, hoping that winning ways can almost magically return, and having the wrong people in the building is something the Lakers are still not accustomed too.

It’d be a culture shock for all parties involved, but it may be what’s best in the near future.
