Saturday Night at the Honda Center turned into a disappointment by the Anaheim Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks defense allowed the Wild comeback and win by two goals.

Anaheim, before the second intermission was playing excellent team hockey.

The Ducks are still in first place in the Pacific Division after losing.

This is because the Minnesota Wild are in the Central Division and they are in first place. Both these teams could face off against each other in the Western Conference Finals in the playoffs.

The Ducks were playing as if they were a championship team. After the second intermission, during the third period is when everything changed. Their play seemed to just go downhill after an impressive first two periods.

Anaheim jumped out to a a three goal to two goal lead through the first two periods. The team was firing on all cylinders, despite allowing two goals to the opponent. Offensively the Ducks were able to score consistently and quickly.

They just couldn’t find the back of the net towards the end of the game. Also, they had twenty-nine shots on goal to their opponents twenty-five shots. Both teams earned two power plays and the Ducks were able to convert on one of them.

All the chaos occurred in the third period where the Anaheim Ducks were held to no goals. Throughout the whole game they played aggressively by producing 30 hits, twice a many as their opponent. Their defense allowed the Wild to score on all active goalies in this game.

John Gibson made four out of five saves playing for only 14:22 minutes. Jonathan Bernier played the majority of the game and allowed the other four goals. The Ducks defense did not help either of their goalies. Hence the reason they brought in Gibson to help their defense.
