No Chris Paul and no Blake Griffin was no problem as Austin Rivers leads Clippers past the Hawks.

Austin Rivers helps Lob City cruise past the Hawks to a ten point victory.

For most teams they usually win behind their star teammates big performances.

However that is not always the case because basketball is a team sport. There needs to be more than one person to play good in order for the team come out with a victory.

Most of the time it is stars having a big night and role players playing consistent basketball. For the Clippers case Monday Night it was neither.

This was a case where multiple reserves came through especially on the saying, “next man up!”

Multiple reserves who were placed as starters had good games while some of he usual starters didn’t perform to the highest of their capabilities.

D’Andre Jordan is the one specific normal starter who didn’t have one of his best performances. He was able to grab 12 rebounds along with 7 points.

Redick was also consistent and posted 17 points with only 3 assists.

The third consistent starter, Luc Mbah A Moute, actually had a better game then he normally does. Strictly in the lineup for defense he recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals.

Austin Rivers and Raymond Felton were the two reserves who started the game.

Both had stellar games. Austin Rivers recorded 27 points and 6 assists while Felton earned 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Let us not forget about Jamal Crawford who off the bench posted 19 points.

Austin Rivers started for the injured Chris Paul and proved why he is a good reserve point guard to compliment when Paul is healthy or injured.

There is no need for the Clippers to trade or sign another point guard when they have quality players in Rivers and Felton.

Austin Rivers has proven himself game in and game out. He is a scrappy player that loves to make plays for his teammates. This is proven by him being shy of a double-double.

Good news for the Clippers is Blake Griffin is returning soon which means they will have Felton and Crawford coming off then bench improving their bench play.
