No mercy was given to the Clippers Saturday night in their loss to the Warriors.

It was their largest margin of defeat this year. Hysterically it could have been worse.

Blake Griffin’s performance is good news that came from the loss with the team finally hitting a road block without Chris Paul.

They were doing great for a few games with Austin Rivers as the starter.

Lately there has been some inconsistencies with closing out games.

Yes the Clippers lost Paul when they were preparing for Griffins return to the team. He assists the team on the defensive end of the court.

They hit a new low when they were toppled by the Warriors.

Blake Griffin shined in the loss on the offensive end scoring 20 points.

He was one of four Clippers in double-figures as well as the top scorer for Lob City. Griffin was doing his best to score for the team and making plays since they were struggling.

It is good he was igniting his team to score, yet how can they win when they can’t stop their opponent from scoring.

Maybe had they focused more on limiting their opponents three-point attempts they would have had a higher chance of winning the game.

I mention this because All-Star player Stephen Curry scored 43 points in the crushing of Lob City.

It seemed as Austin Rivers was absent from the game since he didn’t create double-digit assists.

Also, Deandre Jordan was missing from the game. Jordan didn’t grab many rebounds or score many points although he had an emphatic dunk.

The absence of Chris Paul actually hurts the Clippers more than fans realize. Austin Rivers was doing good replacing him in the role of “Big Three”.

However, the “Big Three” tonight were embarrassed and did not perform at their highest level.

As a team Lob City made a disappointing thirty-six field goals out of eight-two attempts.

Their field goal percentage was 43.9%. Another embarrassing fact is Warriors Stephen Curry scored one more points than the entire Clippers bench 43 to 42 points.

Also, had Curry not scored, the Clippers would have lost by three points.

There is no turning back and all the Clippers can do now is move forward. They will have to wait until these two meet again.

Speights stated it best all they can do is learn from this loss and bounce back. As their team motto exclaims, “It Takes Everything!”

This reigns true especially when it comes to defeating the Warriors. Ironically, once Lob City figures out how to defeat the Warriors they will have a legitimate to chance to make it to the NBA Finals.

For now they will have to bounce back without Paul on Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns, the second-worst team in the league.
