By Evan Lovett
Karl Dorrell
UCLA Football, 2003 – 2007
Dorrell’s coaching career began as an assistant coach for UCLA’s Terry Donahue in 1988 and included stops with the Denver Broncos, Arizona State and the University of Colorado.
In the aftermath of Bob Toledo’s successful and tumultuous tenure in Westwood/Pasadena, Dorrell was brought in to bring stability to the program.
Dorrell’s tenure was mired in mediocrity, as the Bruins went 35-27 over his five seasons. H
is best season was in 2005, when they finished 10-2, defeating Northwestern in the Sun Bowl.
