Lakers, 2011 – 2012

Brown was a nice guy in a tough situation.

A year after being ousted by the 61-win Cleveland Cavaliers, he was brought in to Staples Center to be Phil Jackson’s successor.

His first team, utilizing the Princeton offense, featured Dwight Howard and Steve Nash to accompany Kobe Bryant, which was not the right personnel for the methodical, slow-paced style of play.

Despite reaching the conference finals in the lockout-shortened season, Brown lasted only five games into the 2012 season before being unceremoniously dumped by Mitch Kupchak, Jerry & Jim Buss
