Larry Farmer

UCLA Basketball, 1981 – 1984

Farmer was the first black head coach in Los Angeles, breaking ground that had been accomplished on the playing field by Kenny Washington of the L.A. Rams in 1946 and Jackie Robinson of the Dodgers in 1947.

Farmer was actually the first head coach of a powerhouse basketball program at the NCAA level as well.

He finished with a 61-23 record and one Pac-10 championship and a second round appearance in the NCAA tournament.
