Despite a monster night from Blake Griffin, the Clippers couldn’t connect for a victory.

Right when they need it most, it feels like the Los Angeles Clippers are just out of touch.

Out of their last nine games, the Clippers have found themselves on the losing side of things.

Both Toronto and Los Angeles are the middle of the pack in terms of the playoff hunt. As the Raptors chase down the Cavaliers and Celtics, the Clippers have other teams in mind.

In order to actually make a championship push, Los Angeles is going to have to prove they can beat teams of similar caliber.

They’ve done just the opposite.

If the team can’t beat the Raptors when their stars put up big numbers, how are they supposed to succeed off of an injury?

Blake Griffin had a triple-double, while DeAndre Jordan fell one point short of a double-double.

Griffin led the team in scoring with 26 points, while JJ Redick pitched in 22 of his own.

Off the bench, Marreese Speights and Jamal Crawford led the way with 15 and 14, respectively.

As of writing this, Utah remains two full games ahead of the Clippers in the standings. If the season were to end today, they would meet in the first round and the Jazz would have home court advantage.

If the losing streak continues anymore, the Clippers also risk losing ground to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis currently is tied with the Clippers, and falling behind them would mean Los Angeles would drop to the sixth seed.

It would mean a potential match up with the Houston Rockets, at least based on the current standings.

Los Angeles has had plenty of problems playing Houston in the playoffs before, so that doesn’t help their chances.
