Should the LA Chargers pursue James Starks this off-season?

Could James Starks add to the many changes the Chargers have had during this off-season? For starters they moved to Los Angeles and are now the second football team in LA. Secondly they nearly cleaned house with the coaching staff.

There is still more changes to possibly come as well. Some of these changes will include drafting players, trading for players, signing players in free agency, or signing players on the waiver wire.

The Chargers are hungry to make the playoff as it has been nearly four years since they last made the playoffs and 3 years since they had winning record and missed the post-season. In order to make the post-season they will need help from everyone.

Should they look to pursue free agent James Starks this off-season? He is hungry to get back to playing football and wants to win a championship as well.

He could help LA make the playoffs as its been awhile since they’ve been there.

The Chargers haven’t made the playoffs because all their star players have gotten injured. They have gotten injuries at the start of the season or towards the end.

For example in 2014 when they missed the playoffs, I think their offensive line was getting injured left and right. By the time they got to the end of the season the line was full of bench players and maybe 1 starter.

Also their running backs were dropping like flies as well. This lead them to draft Melvin Gordon in 2015. Then this past year they lost Keenan Allen and Jason Verrett to season ending injuries.

Therefore they need everyone to stay healthy if they are going to make it to the post-season. Also, does this reasoning convince the Chargers to pursue James Starks? Possibly yes.

James Starks is a speedy, versatile back who can catch the ball out of the backfield. He is similar to Danny Woodhead. If he doesn’t earn the starting job James Starks could help them in the return game. Additionally he cold help their receiving core.

Lastly he has playoff experience similar to Woodhead who can help explain to the team what it feels like and how to get their.

James Starks earning a starting role would help the Chargers in multiple ways.
