Rams rumors: Three ways to make Todd Gurley more effective

Better coaching
Getting rid of Jeff Fisher was the best thing the franchise has done in a long time. They might not have picked the best quarterback in the draft — as demonstrated in Dallas by Dak Prescott — but they did decide for a fresh face at head coach.
In comes Sean McVay, a former assistant with the Redskins. He’s the youngest head coach in NFL history and will be looking to make the Rams a threat in the NFC West sooner rather than later.
On top of trying to make Los Angeles attractive to future free agents, McVay must do the best with what he’s got now. In order to get the offense pumping again, he’s going to need to get Gurley to believe in himself.
Sounds crazy when you think of trying to encourage a guy that usually has plenty of drive — but players need to hear it from their coach more than they make known. Getting that positive reinforcement will let Gurley know that even if a play doesn’t develop in his favor, he gave it his best shot.
Sean McVay is the man for the job and should be willing to take up that responsibility head on.
