Metta World Peace

Age: 37

Exp: 16 years

Position: Small forward

Salary: >$1M

The only player with a worse rating in terms of trade value than Jose Calderon is Metta World Peace. Formerly known as Ron Artest, his impact on the game has evolved much like his name.

In one of the more puzzling moves, the Lakers have kept him on the roster this long.

He is scoring just a point per game and has an average of half a rebound and 0.3 assists. These are absolutely atrocious numbers and the Lakers would be lucky to even have a team put up with a trade involving World Peace.

They may be stuck with him for at least the rest of this season, but after that he should be gone. No reason to keep him past that point because, with the upcoming draft, the role of the young core will only become more important.

It’s been nice, Metta, but it’s time to hang ’em up.
