Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle King Dunlap was arrested in Nashville for allegedly violating an order of protection at his girlfriend’s home.
According toNFL.com, the affidavit filed by Nashville Police states that officers responded to a domestic disturbance call Thursday night in the Hermitage area of the city. Upon arrival, they foundKing Dunlapinside the home with a woman identified as his girlfriend.
Documents go on to show that after the officers determined Dunlap had a protective order against him, he was arrested.

Dunlap has been released on a $1,000 bond with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 7th.
Worrick Robinson, Dunlap’s attorney, made thisstatement:
"“This event was a misunderstanding between the parties as to what was allowed under the order. They had been discussing a joint resolution. This was not an egregious event, but two parties trying to come to a mutual understanding. Unfortunately a literal reading of the order meant absolutely no contact, and we trust the facts will resolve all issues in a favorable way for Mr. Dunlap.”"
Robinson went on to say Dunlap was at the home to pick up clothes before he left for spring training in San Diego. Dunlapsigned a 4-year $28million dealwith the Chargers prior to last season. He has been plagued with injuries and was forced to sit out a total of 13 games since the 2015-16 season.

The Chargers released astatementon Friday saying they are “aware of the situation and will continue to gather information and monitor the situation as the legal process runs its course.”
