Trade with Indiana for first round pick

This potential trade doesn’t involve Paul George, although he’d easily be a player that could change the Lakers from top to bottom. Instead, Sporting News is reporting that Indiana is willing to give up a top draft pick to get George some assistance.

Los Angeles could throw in Lou Williams in this deal, which would help the Pacers off the bench. Jeff Teague and Lou Williams could cause some serious damage in the Eastern Conference and make the Pacers a dark horse.

Toronto recently added to their arsenal by agreeing to terms with Orlando to acquire Serge Ibaka. If the Pacers want to remain relevant in the conference outside of LeBron James’ Cavaliers, the Raptors, and now the Celtics and Wizards, this is one way they can keep pace.

Assuming the Lakers also ended the season as a bottom three team, it would give them two very useful draft picks to add to the young core.
