Derrick Rose
Before jumping into the argument of Rose not being worth the Lakers’ time, consider the possibilities for a minute. With his career still up in arms and teetering on going either way, Rose could end up flourishing as a back up.
Given that he idea probably doesn’t sound enticing to Rose, there’s the potential for issues to rise from that. But all negativity aside, Rose could be a good 1-2 punch alongside D’Angelo Russell. While the second year star has shown he can hoop, having a true veteran at the position to replace Lou Williams would do wonders.

Obviously, Rose may not have the same impact on the team off of the bench that Williams did. He’s one of a kind, and not many players can even try to do what he does on a nightly basis.
One way to try and get Rose to Los Angeles is by sending both Lou Williams and Luol Deng packing. It’d be a harder split with Williams, but a worthwhile deal to get Deng out. Instead of being a solid veteran presence Deng hasn’t been much help.
Also, this isn’t to say that Rose would stay injury free for when the team needed him, but if the Lakers need a backup point guard to keep Jordan Clarkson at his position, Rose could be that go-to guy if he stays healthy.
If being the operative word there.
