2017 3 Point Contest Participants: Nick Young set to duel with sharpshooters

Nick Young is ready to shine as a 2017 3 point contest participants.

Nick Young is set to duel with sharpshooters as one of the 2017 3 point contest participants. He is one of 8 participants.

His chances are very slim, yet I think he could actually be a surprise to everyone. Yes he isn’t running in rhythm, but he will have a chance to get into rhythm standing still by making shots consistently.

There are doubters that don’t think Young can pull off the upset and win the contest. LA is hoping as a 2017 3 point contest participant that Nick Young can be the bright light in their dim season.

Once again he will be competing with some of the best. The 2017 3 point contest participants are as follows — Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, C.J. McCollum, Eric Gordon, Kyle Lowry, Nick Young, Wesley Matthews, and Kemba Walker. This contest is full of sharpshooters.

There is no guaranteed winner. Klay Thompson is the 2016 3 point contest champion defending his title. Nick Young is hoping to come away with the title as 2017 3 point contest champion.

He isn’t called Swaggy P for nothing. Young earned this name for the style in which he reacts after he makes three-pointers. He consistently makes them in rhythm.

Klay does have the advantage, but Young has a great chance to shine during All-Star weekend for LA. Once he starts making his shots and gets into a rhythm he will not miss. So far he is shooting .413 % from downtown.

The reason he has a chance to win is because most of the other 2017 3 point contest participants have trouble shooting from a stand still. They have to be in motion and stopping on a dime. Nick Young just has to be in rhythm which gives him a better chance to win.

Also, if he wins I’d expect the Lakers to win most of their games after the All-Star break. He will give them momentum. Nick Young already has momentum by having no pressure on him as the Lakers season seems to be over.
