Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr took to Twitter to exclaim his desire for Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George to become a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

George, who considers Carr his little brother, attended Fresno State with Carr and says they used to play pickup basketball together. Carr finished tied for third in MVP voting for the 2016 season and is a huge Lakers fan and is known to embrace the ‘mamba mentality‘ — a nod to Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

The Paul George-to-the-Lakers rumors continue to run rampant, especially in light of the Lakers’ front-office housecleaning.

Jeannie Buss jettisoned general manager Mitch Kupchak, media relations manager John Black and brother/executive of basketball relations Jim Buss in a sudden move on February 21st.

Magic Johnson has taken over operations and has promised to raise expectations, going so far as say he was “moving fast” in trying to fill the superstar-sized hole vacated by Kobe Bryant.

Sam Amick of USA Today intimated that discussions with old rival Larry Bird could portend George, a Palmdale native, coming home to Staples Center.

Carr is also a Southern California product, having grown up in Bakersfield. He has honored the Lakers numerous times previously, including an Instagram tribute to Bryant following his memorable final game. Though Carr is now living in the Bay Area and playing for the Oakland Raiders, he is definitely still a Lakers fan at heart, as evidenced by his Twitter feed.
