Kershaw dominates again, still perfect in Spring
By Evan Lovett
After two more dominant frames against the Indians on Thursday, Clayton Kershaw is still perfect thus far in Spring Training.
Kersh had everything working,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, “two clean innings and it was good to see. It was a good day, overall.”
It only took 23 pitches for Kershaw to retire all six batters he faced, which included Indians regulars Yan Gomes, Lonnie Chisenhall and Jose Ramirez.
He spotted his fastball well, had tremendous sharpness with his curveball, and commanded his slider. After throwing one changeup in his previous outing, he did not appear to break out his would-be fourth pitch against Cleveland.
It is worth keeping an eye on the pitch, because if Kershaw can rely on the change, it could improve upon what is already a nearly unhittable arsenal.
The reason Clayton Kershaw did not finish in the top two in National League Cy Young award voting last season was because he missed nearly half of the season.
When he pitched, however, he was dominant. He tallied a 1.69 ERA in 149 innings in 2016, with just 11 walks and 172 strikeouts. He has now posted six consecutive top-five Cy Young finishes, becoming the first pitcher ever to accomplish the feat.

The 4-2 win was almost an afterthought as the Dodgers hope to to just keep Kershaw healthy all season – even if every outing is not spotless.
